This LiFePO4 12.8V 41.6Ah is to replace the lead-acid 12V30Ah battery, the have a similar size of 194x130x158mm (we re-tooled the lid, so the height becomes a little bit shorter), we put 44 pieces of high quality 26650 cells inside by 4S11P configuration, and we are getting a 12.8V41.6Ah LiFePO4 battery pack.
Compared to a general-purpose 12.8V 30Ah lead-acid battery, this LiFePO4 12V41.6Ah battery has the same size, but it only has about 56% the weight of the lead-acid battery, and it delivers us 41.6Ah discharge capacity at 1-hour rate, while the lead-acid 30Ah battery only provides us 19.1Ah at 1-hour rate, or 25.8Ah at 5 hours rate.
The deadly strike advantage is the super-long cycle life, which makes the LiFePO4 win this competition completely. LiFePO4 battery provides us with more than 2000 cycles of life during our lab test under the condition of 1C recharge, 1C discharge, room temperature, 100% DOD, and it still has >80 remaining capacity.
You may say “LiFePO4 is super expensive”, well, I’ll tell you that’s totally wrong. The upfront cost is truly higher, but the long-term cost is definitely times lower because you saved the maintenance and replacement cost.
