Lithium polymer batteries are originally saying the lithium battery with gelled electrolyte, but it is commonly referred to as the soft bag battery or pouch cell battery today. From the name of “soft bag” and “pouch”, we can see it doesn’t have a hard battery shell such as the cylindrical cell or the prismatic cell.  The cylindrical and the prismatic battery cells have rigid cases, and the polymer battery has a soft film type enclosure. It’s born for handheld equipment and electronics products. Most importantly, polymer batteries changed the product design concept, it goes to fit the product design, while the product has to go fit the 18650 or other types of batteries.
